Staying in a Canada homestay is a unique opportunity for you
to be fully immersed in the Canadian culture. Your English
will certainly improve and you will leave Vancouver with many
memories. Below is a list of simple rules to make your transition
easier and a few Student agreements. Please carefully read

- The homestay student agrees to abide by all reasonable
house rules.
- Please tell your Host family if you are not going to
be home for meals, if you are going to be late or if you
have vacation plans.
- Please take extra care with your house key. (i.e. Do
not loan your key to anyone else.)
- You will be responsible for your own transportation,
personal care products, snacks, and international calls.
We recommend that you purchase faresavers for the transit
system and that you purchase an international telephone
card.
- Please offer to pay for your own items when you are
out with your Host family.
- To avoid any misunderstandings, we recommend that you
keep your room neat and clean.
- The Student agrees to pay the Host family $25.00 Canadian
per night for their entire stay and that after the Student's
first month of stay, the Student agrees to pay the Host
family directly.
- Due to Canada's many laws protecting its citizens rights
and freedoms, the Student agrees that he/she cannot request
a change in their Host family based on race, religion
or any other culturally based difference.
- The Student understands that Bear Hugs Homestay Services
cannot verify all of the information provided by the Host
family.
- The Student verifies that he/she has answered all of the
questions correctly on the Student Application Form.
- The student agrees to make reparations to the Host family
for any financial damage or injury to the person or property
of others that he/she may cause.
- The Student agrees to abide by all of the laws of Canada
that pertain to this agreement.
